In 2001, before the Butternut Valley Nature Center program was born, we embarked on a huge task. Scampering about the hills and valley, we tried to discover what organisms live here. We identified what we could find and photographed that which would let us. We created the Virtual Nature Center to feature all of these organisms so that our others could share in the information. The idea of the K-12 Butternut Valley Nature Center program was born during those many days of searching and investigating because we wanted to share more than pictures. We wanted to share all the living secrets and the natureal experience that Butternut Valley holds.
